Win super-rare LEGO The Dark Knight trilogy Bat-Pod in VIP sweepstakes

The latest LEGO VIP sweepstake will see one lucky winner walk away with the super-rare LEGO Batman set 5004590 Bat-Pod, as seen in Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight trilogy.

Originally raffled away to VIP members in 2015, the 311-piece set is designed to display alongside 76023 The Tumbler (and by extension, 76240 Batmobile Tumbler, which is for all intents and purposes the same set). Only 750 copies of the model were given away at the time, but the LEGO Group has now managed to come up with another – perhaps from a previously-unclaimed prize – for a VIP sweepstake celebrating the launch of 76252 Batcave – Shadow Box.

For just 50 points (the same number you can currently earn for taking part in a new survey, handily), you can get your name in the hat for the incredibly rare 5004590 Bat-Pod. The set has never been available to purchase at retail, and now starts at $1,800 (or roughly £1,437) on BrickLink for a new and sealed copy. If you want to maximise your chances of winning, you can enter up to 50 times.

Eligible countries for the sweepstake include the UK, US, Canada (excluding Quebec), Estonia, France, the Republic of Ireland, Latvia, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Austria, Switzerland, Slovakia and Sweden. You’ve got until June 29 to enter, and it sounds like there’s just one copy up for grabs.

5004590 Bat-Pod is based on Batman’s ride in the Dark Knight trilogy, which can detach from the Tumbler and featured heavily in 2012’s The Dark Knight Rises. The instructions for the set were made available in 2015, but its tyres aren’t what you’d call cheap, so it’s still pretty pricey to piece together through BrickLink – even without the official box and physical instructions.

For a guaranteed Batman experience this month, there’s always 76252 Batcave – Shadow Box, which launches on June 5 for VIP members (and June 8 for everyone else). Check out our review of the biggest new LEGO Batman set here, and head over to the VIP Rewards Centre to enter the Bat-Pod sweepstake.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
