Working custom Star Wars X-wing flies into LEGO Fortnite

It was only a matter of time until a working Star Wars vehicle made its way into LEGO Fortnite and the latest update has made that dream a reality.

While there has been a few Star Wars vehicles created within LEGO Fortnite both functional and non-functional since launch, the wrench added in the latest update has added another level of possibilities to LEGO Fortnite’s vehicles.

Lassikko on X has taken advantage of the new wrench and how it can program different toys to activate when pressing different buttons and depicted a familiar starfighter that can fly as realistically as you would expect within LEGO Fortnite.

X-Wing starfighters in Star Wars may not be lifted by balloons but with no better and more reliable solution at the time of writing, this LEGO Fortnite creation is an impressive feat and should make exploring worlds a lot easier. It appears to be lacking brakes but that’s nothing the ground or a nearby tree can’t fix.

IP themes are an ‘important focus‘ for LEGO Fortnite, possibly including LEGO Kits in the future so there may an opportunity to revisit this X-Wing and improve its appearance one day.

The Mechanical Mayhem update is available to play now within LEGO Fortnite including a wide variety of new vehicle parts and more.

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
