You can now spend your VIP points on a reward inspired by a retired LEGO set

An exclusive VIP reward based on a classic, retired LEGO set is now available to purchase at LEGO.com.

You’ll need to spend 1,000 points – equivalent to £6.25 in discount vouchers – to pick up the new Travel Edition of 2009’s 3844 Creationary, a LEGO Games set that adapts the basic rules of Pictionary into the medium of LEGO bricks.

No actual bricks are included in the reward, however: instead, the pack comes with everything you need to transform your own LEGO collection into a game of Creationary, including 100 ‘Creation Cards’, 30 two-point cards, 20 five-point cards, and one 60-second sand timer.

Word of the reward first appeared on LEGO.com last week, though its ‘free item’ branding suggested it would appear as a future gift-with-purchase. You’ll still have to make a separate purchase at the official online store to redeem the reward, but this method means you’ll also have to spend your hard-earned VIP points for the privilege, too.

If you’re keen for the Travel Edition of Creationary, don’t hang around – Promobricks reports there are only 3,000 or so copies available. Redemptions are currently limited to one per account, but we still don’t expect these to last very long.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
