The 10 most expensive LEGO sets of all time – September 2023

With even more wallet-busting models being released so far in 2023, just what are the top 10 most expensive LEGO sets of all time?

Even for LEGO fans with plenty of disposable income, an ever-increasing number of sets with eye-watering prices seems to be the norm these days. With the LEGO Group’s recent reveal of 75367 Venator-Class Republic Attack Cruiser, yet another pricey addition will soon be with us, offering up a gigantic wallet-busting build for collectors to shell out for.

The LEGO Star Wars build is also going to be joining an elite list of models when it arrives next month, so let’s take a look at the current top 10 most expensive LEGO sets of all time to date:

10 – 76210 Hulkbuster

Theme: Marvel Price: £474.99 / $549.99 / €549.99 Pieces: 4,049 Available: Now

With only 4,049 pieces, 76210 Hulkbuster certainly struggles to justify its high price point. While reception to the LEGO Marvel release has been less than positive, the massive model still manages to beat out 76405 Hogwarts Express Collector’s Edition to retain a spot in this list.

9 – 10276 Colosseum

Theme: LEGO Icons Price: £474.99 / $549.99 / €549.99 Pieces: 9,036 Available: Now

Still going strong despite being a three-year old set, 10276 Colosseum is still a beast of a build. Once briefly the biggest LEGO Icons set of all time, the model was ultimately trumped by 10294 Titanic, 31203 World Map and 10307 Eiffel Tower.

8 – 75331 The Razor Crest

Theme: Star Wars Price: £519.99 / $599.99 / €599.99 Pieces: 6,187 Available: Now

The first of five LEGO Star Wars sets that dominate the list this time around, the Ultimate Collector Series set is currently scheduled to retire in 2025, so will be sticking around for a while longer. That should give you plenty of time to save up for the 6,187-piece model…

7 – 10307 Eiffel Tower

Theme: LEGO Icons Price: £554.99 / $629.99 / €629.99 Pieces: 10,001 Available: Now

If enormous grey French landmarks are your sort of thing, then you’re in luck. 10307 Eiffel Tower launched last year and is still available at the time of the writing. The set is also still the tallest LEGO set of all time and looks likely to remain so for the time being.

6 – 75367 Venator-Class Republic Attack Cruiser

Theme: Star Wars Price: £559.99 / $649.99 / €649.99 Pieces: 5,374
Available: October 1 (Insiders), October 4 (wide), 2023

When 75367 Venator-Class Republic Attack Cruiser releases next month, it’ll not only cement its position in this list, but will also become the second longest LEGO Star Wars set ever. Scroll down this page slightly and you’ll see it’s only beaten by a rival model that’s just 1cm longer.

5 – 42146 Liebherr Crawler Crane LR 13000

Theme: Technic Price: £579.99 / $699.99 / €679.99 Pieces: 2,883 Available: Now

There’s no denying the sheer scale of 42146 Liebherr Crawler Crane LR 13000, a Technic build that also manages to cram in plenty of functionality. However, the set’s price-to-piece count ratio definitely doesn’t do the licensed construction model any favours.

4 – 10294 Titanic

Theme: LEGO Icons Price: £589.99 / $679.99 / €679.99 Pieces: 9,090 Available: Now

Sailing into the top five yet again is 10294 Titanic, with the huge LEGO Icons build proving to have plenty of staying power. We’re still waiting for a similarly-scaled LEGO iceberg companion model to appear at some point though. Too soon?

3 – 75252 Imperial Star Destroyer

Theme: Star Wars Price: £614.99 / $699.99 / €699.99 Pieces: 4,784 Available: Now

Narrowly beating out 75367 Venator-Class Republic Attack Cruiser in terms of length is this brick-built version of the classic Imperial ship. With an extra 1cm of pieces between the two, there’s no debating who wins the dominating warship size competition.

2 – 75313 AT-AT

Theme: Star Wars Price: £734.99 / $849.99 / €849.99 Pieces: 6,785 Available: Now

We’re racing to the finish line now, with a pair of LEGO Star Wars sets that are taking part in a price photo finish. 75313 AT-AT is as big as real-life dog, stands over 62cm in height and comes with room to fit over 40 minifigures inside.

1 – 75192 Millennium Falcon

Theme: Star Wars Price: £734.99 / $849.99 / €849.99 Pieces: 7,541 Available: Now

Managing to hold onto the top spot for another year is 75192 Millennium Falcon. While it may not have a record number of pieces, when it comes to price, it’s a joint winner with 75313 AT-AT. However, with expensive models continuing to be released, will that still be the case this time next year?
