10 of the best LEGO Speed Champions minifigures
With 10 years of character designs under the theme’s racing belt, check out some of the best LEGO Speed Champions minifigures released over the past decade.
LEGO Speed Champions is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, with multiple F1 sets having already launched in 2025 and the recently-announced 77241 2 Fast 2 Furious Honda S2000 speeding into view on June 1.
One feature of the LEGO Speed Champions theme’s success that some fans may overlook is its extensive selection of minifigures. A total of 130 different drivers, mechanics, support staff and others have been released so far (alongside their brick-built vehicles), many decked out in official team colours or based on well-known movie characters.
With that in mind, here’s our selection of 10 of the best LEGO Speed Champions minifigures from the theme to date:
1 – Mercedes-AMG GT3 driver

Included with 75877 Mercedes-AMG GT3 in 2017, the accompanying driver minifigure looks striking in his eye-catching black and yellow racing outfit, complete with printed team logo and visored-helmet.
As with many LEGO Speed Champions minifigures, the Mercedes-AMG GT3 driver remains nameless and only possesses one printed facial expression. Still, there’s plenty to like about the character and he perfectly complements his iconic racing vehicle.
2 – 2016 Ford GT driver

The only LEGO Speed Champions two-pack to make it into this list, 75881 2016 Ford GT & 1966 Ford GT40 came with a total of three minifigures. Released in 2017, it’s the set’s 2016 Ford GT driver that caught our eye and with good reason.
The cross-generational model’s minifigure is decked out in an extremely-detailed racing suit, complete with a selection of logos. In addition, the primarily white outfit is further defined with grey hands, blue helmet and cool sunglasses-wearing head.
3 – Ford Fiesta M-Sport WRC driver

A racing blast from the past, 2018’s 75885 Ford Fiesta M-Sport WRC’s colour scheme echoes its use as a sturdy off-road rally car well-suited for harsh weather conditions. The same applies to the LEGO Speed Champions set’s driver minifigure, which looks perfect for snow-based racing.
Finely-detailed printing on the Ford Fiesta M-Sport WRC driver minifigure’s torso and legs make this a stand-out addition to any fan’s collection. The snowy-white helmet and confident smile on the minifigure’s face prove the character is a winning entry on this list.
4 – 1970 Ferrari 512 M driver

Making its debut in 2022, 76906 1970 Ferrari 512 M exemplifies everything that makes the LEGO Speed Champions theme so great. A unique brick-built vehicle, a bold colour scheme and a driver minifigure who’s as cool as the car he comes with.
The 1970 Ferrari 512 M driver represents retro racing incarnate, with a crisp white jumpsuit, picked out with red piping down the front of the minifigure’s legs, plus a separate hair piece and helmet. Printing is also on point, with a detailed torso boasting the iconic Ferrari logo.
5 – Lotus Evija driver

Undoubtedly representing the future of motorsport, the 2022 LEGO Speed Champions version of the real-life Lotus Evija pairs the innovative all-electric hypercar’s dark green bodywork with a matching driver minifigure.
Printed details on the Lotus Evija Driver aren’t as showy as other LEGO Speed Champions minifigures, but sometimes less is more. As the only model based on one of the legendary racing team’s vehicles to date, 76907 Lotus Evija’s minifigure is a true championship character.
6 – James Bond

Only the second version of James Bond’s iconic ride released so far and the first to be added to the LEGO Speed Champions theme in 2022, 76911 007 Aston Martin DB5 is everything fans of the cinematic spy franchise could have hoped for.
That includes its famous driver minifigure, Bond himself. Based on Daniel Craig’s take on Ian Fleming’s suave character, the minifigure looks suitably dapper in his black and white tuxedo, plus the actor’s recognisable hair and facial expression.
7 – Dominic Toretto

Another first is 2022’s 76912 Fast & Furious 1970 Dodge Charger R/T, with the muscle car spinning out of the hi-octane movie street racing franchise. Also along for the ride is a minifigure of Vin Diesel’s Dominic Toretto, complete with black sleeveless top and grey legs.
There’s nothing flashy about the LEGO Speed Champions minifigure, but it does exactly what it should and manages to deliver a spot-on likeness of Vin Diesel, complete with confident smirk and a lack of any hair piece.
8 – Porsche 963 driver

Leaping out of the 1980s and into 2023 was 76916 Porsche 963, a 280-piece car that boasted distinctive lines and a bold colour scheme. Matching the vehicle’s confident appearance was its cocky minifigure, one whose printed smile reveals a winner in waiting.
Also of note is the Porsche 963 driver’s impressive front and back torso printing, punctuated with the familiar Porsche logo. That quality printing continues on the minifigure’s legs, fully completing the minifigure’s sharp look.
9 – Lamborghini Lambo V12 Vision Gran Turismo driver

A very distinctive LEGO Speed Champions entry, 76923 Lamborghini Lambo V12 Vision GT Super Car raced into fans’ collections last year. The vehicle’s driver represents one of only a handful of female minifigures to emerge from the theme, something we’d definitely like to see more of in the future.
As well as an optional blonde hair element and black racing helmet, the Lamborghini Lambo V12 Vision GT Super Car driver’s torso and legs perfectly match the colours of the set’s high-tech super sports car, right down to the angled stripes on her legs.
10 – Ferrari SF-24 driver

Launching March 1, 2025 as part of a 10-car Formula 1 line-up, 77242 Ferrari SF-24 is perhaps the stand-out set in that range, mostly due to its bright red bodywork, a strong colour that’s reflected in its included minifigure.
The Ferrari SF-24 driver’s printed torso is simple enough and the minifigure’s legs are left blank, but the character’s striking winged helmet complete with moulded trans-black visor and Ferrari logo make it a must-have for all LEGO Speed Champions fans.
