LEGO Star Wars 30625 Luke Skywalker with Blue Milk review

The Deluxe Edition of LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga includes a unique new minifigure that’s proving to be a much sought-after item in 30625 Luke Skywalker with Blue Milk.

When LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga finally launched on April 5, 2022, it was available in a couple of different versions. As well as the Standard Edition with just the game, a Deluxe Edition also included DLC packs, a Han Solo in Carbonite Steelbook (at select retailers) and a 30625 Luke Skywalker with Blue Milk polybag.

Images of the polybag set first appeared way back in 2020, but the game’s long development period and the pandemic delayed LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga for a couple of years. Following last month’s launch, patient fans have now been able to get their hands on the latest TT Games release and the included polybag bonus.

30625 Luke Skywalker with Blue Milk includes a minifigure of the Tatooine farm boy, complete with trademark white outfit, blonde hair and double-sided head. The torso, leg and hair pieces have appeared frequently, most recently as part of the Luke Skywalker minifigures included with 75270 Obi-Wan’s Hut, 75290 Mos Eisley Cantina and 75279 LEGO Star Wars Advent Calendar.

The head piece is brand new though and offers two versions of Luke’s face, complete with dripping blue milk and cheeky wink. The fun expressions accurately reflect the tongue-in-cheek nature of LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, which never takes itself too seriously.

Another unique new element in the polybag is included in the shape of a two-piece blue milk carton. Printing on the blue brick reveals that Luke is drinking Bantha milk, which is a hilarious nod to both the character’s home planet and his taste in dairy-based beverages.

The minifigure would make an excellent addition to 40531 Lars Family Homestead, a GWP available as part of the current May the 4th event, although that set’s blue milk carton lacks the Bantha print of the polybag’s version. Interestingly, this version of Luke doesn’t actually appear as a playable character in LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, which feels like something of a missed opportunity.

30625 Luke Skywalker with Blue Milk is currently only available with the physical Deluxe Edition of LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga. Getting hold of the minifigure could now prove to be expensive though, with copies of the game sold out at most retailers and one eBay seller’s auction recently hitting £96 for just the polybag.

LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is available to purchase now on a variety of platforms. The most recent (and possibly final) DLC pack arrived early for some gamers earlier this week, with a full official release on May 4.
