A closer look at LEGO Icons’ Sherlock Holmes minifigures
LEGO Icons 10351 Sherlock Holmes: Book Nook has some amazing new minifigures with callbacks, new prints and more worth highlighting.
The first official LEGO book nook is coming to shelves this summer in the form of 10351 Sherlock Holmes: Book Nook, depicting a slice of Baker Street that can be impressively displayed one one of two ways. The model itself is undoubtedly appealing, but don’t overlook those new Sherlock Holmes minifigures entirely.

We’re putting the book nook itself aside in this report, but can you appreciate the model itself by clicking here. Instead, take a closer look at the five new minifigures in 10351 Sherlock Holmes: Book Nook, from alternate face prints to what they’re referencing.
Sherlock Holmes

The deerstalker cap element is back after Series 5 of the LEGO Collectible Minifigures as Sherlock Holmes sports a clean-shaven face and no more printing on the sides of the cap.

As well as the skin tone depicting something more realistic than that of the Series 5 detective, Sherlock now sports a vest instead of a checkered blazer.
“We wanted to have him in a tweed vest and include the watch as well, cause in the books there is mention of the pocket watch and Irene gives a coin to him that he keeps hanging on that watch so it’s a significant object for him.” shared graphic designer Johanna W. Jensen speaking to DuckBricks.
The new minifigure’s difference compared to the original detective minifigure only increases its appeal for longtime LEGO collectors, but otherwise only has a new torso and everything else is reused.
Dr Watson

Dr Watson sports a new head in 10351 Sherlock Holmes: Book Nook with his round glasses and a classy moustache. This minifigure’s head is the only new print but it’s a fetching design that adds to the appeal of the new LEGO Icons set and its minifigure cast.
Irene Adler

Irene Adler has an entirely new outfit in 10351 Sherlock Holmes: Book Nook alongside a double-sided head with a suitably perplexed or upset alternate expression.
The lavender dress is an elegant design befitting of the era, and she has a small cape alongside Sherlock, pairing the two minifigures accordingly. There’s another caped minifigure in this set, too.
Professor Moriarty

Moriarty’s minifigure has an entirely new head that isn’t entirely accurate to the original stories, as mentioned in our new video, and otherwise is also dressed in a cape to cap off the trio of intelligent minifigures with Irene and Sherlock.

While his design is more reminiscent of another fictional character – Arsène Lupin – this unusual outfit and face might be a reference to LEGO Adventurer’s Sam Sinister, who also wore a top hat, monocle and admittedly more refined facial hair. Whether this is intentional or not has yet to be confirmed.
Paige

Paige seems to have been designed specifically for 10351 Sherlock Holmes: Book Nook and fulfils the role of a newspaper courier in the set. Her head has an alternate face print, much like Irene, and the combination hat and hair element in that colour is likely to be useful for custom characters.
LEGO Icons 10351 Sherlock Holmes: Book Nook will be available to buy from June 1 for £109.99 / $129.99 / €119.99. Pre-orders are open now on the official online store.
