Are more LEGO Stranger Things sets coming in 2022?

Netflix has revealed that Season 4 of Stranger Things will arrive in 2022, suggesting that’s when the LEGO Group’s tease of future sets for the theme may materialise.

The first teaser for the next season of the streaming series landed online back in May, and was quickly followed by a subsequent tease of ‘something strange’ from the official LEGO Twitter account. We’ve heard very little on a follow-up set (or sets!) to 75810 The Upside Down since then, however, beyond the same social media team asking us to ‘keep an eye out for more information’.

It now appears we may be waiting until next year to learn more, as Netflix has just debuted a sneak peek at Season 4 – alongside confirmation that it won’t arrive on the streaming service until 2022. If any further tie-in LEGO sets are in the works, it stands to reason that they’ll arrive at the same time.

At the moment, 75810 The Upside Down is the one and only set to come out of Stranger Things, bar a LEGO Store promo and a San Diego Comic-Con-exclusive minifigure. We’re still missing key characters like Steve and Nancy, though, so there’s plenty of scope for a follow-up set (or, again, multiple sets) that focuses on the events of the show’s later seasons.

Plus, 75810 The Upside Down is currently scheduled to retire by the end of 2021, which means we’ll have a Stranger Things-shaped hole on LEGO Store shelves from 2022…

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
