The LEGO Group has hinted that its recent Stranger Things tease means more sets from Hawkins are indeed on the way.
Late last week, Netflix debuted a first teaser for the fourth season of its sci-fi show – and the LEGO Twitter account quickly got in on the action, seemingly teasing a follow-up set to 2019’s 75810 The Upside Down.
Given that set is still on shelves, that original tweet could simply have been a marketing exercise – perhaps as part of a contractual obligation with its licensing partner. Now, though, the LEGO Group’s social media team have apparently confirmed that something new really is in the works.
Responding to speculation on future Stranger Things sets, the official LEGO Twitter account has advised fans to ‘keep an eye out for more information’, suggesting there’s more to come. And while we don’t want to read too much into an emoji, the upside-down smile that signs off the tweet feels like a pretty major hint…
We’ve heard no rumours on any follow-up Stranger Things sets, but we certainly wouldn’t pass up the opportunity to get Steve, Nancy or even a more widely-available Barb in minifigure form. We’ll keep you posted if and when we hear anything.
For now, 75810 The Upside Down is still available at LEGO.com – but will apparently retire by the end of this year, so bump it up your priority list if you’re keen to bag it before, like Barb, it disappears all too soon.
