The best August LEGO sets to get you a gift-with-purchase

It’s a huge week for new releases, and some of the August LEGO sets will net you a gift-with-purchase, as long as you know what to buy.

There are four gifts-with-purchase currently available, and it’s not as easy to stack them as it has been in the past. Thankfully, it’s not too hard to qualify for one or the other by picking up a set, and a couple can be gained entirely with new releases.

The array of current gifts-with-purchase includes 30698 Cooper’s Flying Controller Mini Build, 30701 Field Flowers, 40760 Adventure Peely & Cuddle Team Leader and 40765 Kamino Training Facility, but only the Fortnite BrickHeadz are brand new.

Make sure you’re a LEGO Insiders member to qualify for 40760 Adventure Peely & Cuddle Team Leader before August 4. Aside from that, the only qualification to keep in mind is which themes you are purchasing from, and which corresponding gift-with-purchase you’ll qualify for.

No matter your budget, picking up a free LEGO set this weekend isn’t challenging and here are a few suggestions on the best new models to score you a gift-with-purchase.

75639 The Going Merry Pirate Ship

Price: £119.99 / $139.99 / €129.99 Pieces: 1,376 Release date: August 1

LEGO One Piece 75639 The Going Merry Pirate Ship 3 979x1024

Despite a hefty back-order period on launch day, you can still place an order for 75639 The Going Merry Pirate Ship with all five Straw Hat crew members, new pieces and an iconic ship from pop culture, all while qualifying for the free Fortnite BrickHeadz as well. You can read our review of this impressive LEGO pirate ship by clicking here to see why it should sail into your collection as soon as possible.

76324 Spider-Man vs. Oscorp

Price: £119.99 / $139.99 / €129.99 Pieces: 808 Release date: August 1

LEGO Marvel 76324 Spider Man vs. Oscorp 4

You can offset the lower piece count of 76324 Spider-Man vs Oscorp without having to wait for a sale on the set by grabbing it alongside the Fortnite BrickHeadz today. It comes with a street scene featuring a long-awaited Oscorp building that can connect to other LEGO Marvel sets from this year. The minifigures are the highlight of this model, though, featuring a new Kraven the Hunter, a modern Green Goblin minifigure, Norman Osborn and even Eddie Brock with his symbiote sidekick.

75413 Republic Juggernaut

Price: £139.99 / $159.99 / €149.99 Pieces: 813 Release date: August 1

LEGO Star Wars 75413 Republic Juggernaut 13 1024x687

Similar to 76324 Spider-Man vs. Oscorp, 75413 Republic Juggernaut is pricey compared to the piece count. Still, those who can’t wait for the Galactic Marines minifigures can find a decent deal by grabbing the set today and qualifying for the Fortnite BrickHeadz free of charge. The new Turbo Tank may be smaller than previous iterations, but it has a decent interior to populate with minifigures and that smaller size will make it easier to store and display.

10373 Mini Bonsai Trees

Price: £54.99 / $64.99 / €59.99 Pieces: 709 Release date: August 1

LEGO Botanicals 10373 Mini Bonsai Trees 16 1024x576

The 709-piece 10373 Mini Bonsai Trees revisits a popular concept for the LEGO Botanicals range, but now on a smaller scale and with a trio of trees. For £54.99 / $64.99 / €59.99, this set won’t qualify for you for the Fortnite BrickHeadz on its own, but for anyone on a budget this month, it will be more than enough to net you the free 30701 Field Flowers.

75435 Battle of Felucia Separatist MTT

Price: £139.99 / $159.99 / €149.99 Pieces: 976 Release date: August 1

LEGO Star Wars 75435 Battle of Felucia Separatist MTT 12 1024x611

75435 Battle of Felucia Separatist MTT falls into a similar category as 75413 Republic Juggernaut, with an expensive model compared to what you’re paying for. Still, it’s a modest MTT with decent functionality for anyone eager to add one to their collection. It will also easily qualify for the free LEGO Fortnite BrickHeadz around the world, helping to offset the cost of this creation.

These are your best bets for getting one of the new gifts-with-purchase through the purchase of a single set that was released on August 1, but you can combine many of the other builds launched yesterday to qualify as well. LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
