Baseplates are back today as LEGO Classic launches a new wave of sets

LEGO Classic’s 2022 range of sets is now available, including the return of four colours of baseplates on the official online store.

While March 1 sees the launch of many exciting new models on LEGO.com, including complicated creations from Technic and superhero recreations from Marvel, one theme is keeping things simple with boxes of bricks and the ever-important baseplates.

From custom LEGO cities to bases on alien worlds, baseplates provide a canvas for your creations. After the LEGO Group announced that the older lineup would be changing in 2022 to feature paper packaging, the latest collection of them has revealed that nothing else has changed.

It’s not like there are many needed improvements to the four colours of baseplates, which include 11023 Green Baseplate, 11024 Gray Baseplate, 11025 Blue Baseplate, 11026 White Baseplate. It’s important to note that the grey variant is larger than the rest at 48×48 studs rather than 32×32.

They’re not the only new LEGO Classic sets out today as a trio of mixed bricks each with a suggested topic from monsters to functions are also available now:

11017 Creative Monsters
11018 Creative Ocean Fun
11019 Bricks and Functions
11023 Green Baseplate
11024 Gray Baseplate
11025 Blue Baseplate
11026 White Baseplate
