Battlefront II is back – and its latest LEGO Star Wars set is still available

As hype around Star Wars: Battlefront II reaches an all-time high eight years on from release, the LEGO Group manages a rare well-timed win: its latest Battlefront-inspired set is still on shelves.

It’s no secret that the LEGO Group often has perilously poor timing with sets hooked to new releases, a flaw exacerbated by the pandemic pushing movies like Minions: The Rise of Gru and Black Widow to well beyond the release window of their accompanying LEGO sets. But it’s currently enjoying a rare win thanks to the renewed popularity of Star Wars: Battlefront II.

The 2017 multiplayer shooter is back in the limelight after reaching new all-time high concurrent player counts on Steam, as the community galvanises in hopes of convincing Disney, Lucasfilm and EA to finally develop Battlefront III. The fresh interest in the series is part of a wider Star Wars resurgence off the back of the second season of Andor, which is basically the best thing to come out of a galaxy far, far away since the ‘80s.

And wouldn’t you know it: the latest LEGO Star Wars set inspired by Battlefront II is actually available to purchase right now, in the year of our Emperor 2025. 75345 501st Clone Troopers Battle Pack originally launched in 2023, has survived well beyond the usual lifespan of a LEGO Star Wars battle pack and is not due to retire until July 2026.

Veteran Battlefront II players should recognise the link here between video game and set, as the four blue-tinted Clone Troopers included in 75345 are reflective of three of the four main player classes in Battlefront II: officers, specialists and heavy troopers. (The standard assault class can be found in sets such as 75378 BARC Speeder Escape.) The LEGO Group confirmed the set’s inspiration back in October 2023.

“To give them the whole gamut of possible different types of specialists, we actually leaned into some reference from Battlefront II, where you can use the different specialists, officers and heavy troopers,” said LEGO Star Wars graphic designer Madison O’Neil. “And so we’ve created a little line-up here, based off that.”

75345 501st Clone Troopers Battle Pack is also one of the more affordable battle packs these days, coming in at £17.99 / $19.99 / €19.99 for 119 pieces and four minifigures: a 501st Officer, 501st Clone Specialist and two 501st Heavy Troopers. It’s a fine basis for building out a wider Battlefront II scene, and you can pick up a bunch of droids (plus more Clones) to populate a battlefield in 75372 Clone Trooper & Battle Droid Battle Pack.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
