Brand new LEGO Batmobile now available to order

Holy new LEGO set, Batman! The first minifigure-scale Tumbler since 2013 is now available to purchase from the official online store.

76239 Batmobile Tumbler: Scarecrow Showdown devotes all of its 422 pieces to recreating The Dark Knight’s tank-like take on the Caped Crusader’s wheels, and in doing so becomes the first minifigure-scale version of the vehicle to hit shelves since 76001 The Bat vs. Bane: Tumbler Chase in 2013.

That set’s tiny Tumbler was based on the camo version used by Bane in The Dark Knight Rises, however, whereas this new model finally brings us an updated iteration of Batman’s all-black variant from Batman Begins and The Dark Knight (the first since 2008’s 7888 The Tumbler: Joker’s Ice Cream Surprise).

It also includes minifigures of both Bats and Scarecrow, marking the first time we’ve seen this version of Jonathan Crane’s character. The villain has appeared several times before across the LEGO DC Super Heroes range – most recently in The LEGO Batman Movie’s 70913 Scarecrow Fearful Face-off – but we’ve never had a minifigure of the design from Christopher Nolan’s trilogy.

You can grab him, Batman and the supremely-angular Tumbler right now in 76239 Batmobile Tumbler: Scarecrow Showdown, which is available at LEGO.com for £34.99 / $39.99 / €39.99.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
