Celebrate Eid-al-Fitr with a free LEGO Store make and take build

LEGO Stores in the UK are celebrating the Muslim festival of Eid-al-Fitr this weekend with a free make and take model available today.

The LEGO Group is joining in with this year’s Eid-al-Fitr festival by giving away a free mini-build to all visitors to its UK stores today. The event takes place from 10am to 12pm and those who make it down to their local LEGO Store can pick up a unique Eid Lantern model to either construct then and there or take home with them.

The Muslim festival of Eid-al-Fitr takes place after Ramadan, the traditional period of fasting for Muslims around the world. In the UK, that’s expected to start on April 10, 2024, so the LEGO Group’s free giveaway is a little early, but should still be a welcome treat for visitors to LEGO Stores today.

It’s worth noting that the LEGO Eid Lantern mini-build is only available in limited quantities (while stocks last) on a first come first serve basis. If you do manage to pick up the small promotional set, it shouldn’t take long to assemble either. The model features a grey base with yellow and dark blue elements, complete with yellow windows and ring at the top to hang it.

Those looking for even more free LEGO goodies will be able to pick up three different mini-builds from Smyths Toys stores next weekend, with microscale versions of 77049 Isabelle’s House Visit42614 Vintage Fashion Store and 76428 Hagrid’s Hut: An Unexpected Visit being given away at participating UK retail locations.

I thought Lego was not doing religion. Of course not doing Catholics because that would be blasphemy; but Islam is all good.

Yes Hobbes, not sure what ‘not doing Catholics’ means , but I think with just the tinesiest amount of research, you will find that Lego produces a wide variety of Easter and Christmas Lego sets every single year, and has done so for many a decade.
I wonder, do you have any concerns about these sets?
Or are your concerns about this one off set with probably no more than 30 pieces, actually about something else ?

Also, Notre Dame cathedral is on its way.
      That’s a pretty Catholic place.
