Watch Charles Leclerc try on a 3,500-piece LEGO F1 helmet
It turns out the life-sized LEGO Formula 1 helmets revealed earlier this week are actually wearable – and you can watch Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc try his on…
Built from over 3,500 pieces each, the custom replicas of Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc’s helmets were unveiled at the Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne alongside their smaller retail versions, which arrive on shelves in May. The drivers walked through the paddock carrying their life-sized LEGO helmets, showing them off to media. But what they didn’t reveal was that they’re actually wearable.
In a video posted to Scuderia Ferrari’s social channels, Charles Leclerc tries on his replica helmet, which weighs just shy of 3kg – or more than double a real-life Formula 1 helmet. The video is cut in such a way that it’s hard to know exactly how long he was wearing it for, but for the sake of his neck fingers crossed it wasn’t very long.
In any event, it was at least long enough for a photographer to snap the pic below, which was posted to the team’s Instagram account. There are no similar images or clips of Hamilton wearing his helmet.

You won’t be able to buy these one-off life-sized replicas any time soon, but you can at least pre-order the smaller (and more affordable) 43014 Scuderia Ferrari HP Charles Leclerc Helmet and 43022 Scuderia Ferrari HP Lewis Hamilton Helmet sets right now ahead of their May 2026 release.
