Christmas has come late as holiday movie LEGO Ideas project moves into review

The first LEGO Ideas review round of 2025 is growing fast, with the second project to raise 10,000 supporters bringing back festive cheer.

First-time LEGO Ideas 10K club member MadamEnthusiasticJay has had their Christmas present come late with National Lampoons Christmas Vacation, based on the 1989 holiday movie of the same name. Made up of 3,900 pieces and featuring five minifigures, the brick-built version of the Griswold house has three floors full of furniture and stuff from the movie. There’s also a side build of the family car to pick up the Christmas tree and Eddie’s RV.

The open rear of the build allows you to peek inside to the interior details, including a working fireplace and a Christmas tree with a squirrel in it. The entrance hall also features a staircase to get to the second floor and a dining room to have a family Christmas dinner, allowing you to recreate various scenes from the movie.

Whether we’ll see Clark W. “Sparky” Griswold Jr, Ellen Griswold, Audrey Griswold, Russell “Rusty” Griswold, and Cousin Eddie as actual minifigures on shelves now depends on the LEGO Ideas team. The review round is only just beginning, but check out the two projects qualified so far.
