Closer look at project behind LEGO Ideas Dungeons & Dragons set

More images of the winning LEGO Ideas Dungeons & Dragons project could offer a better look at what to expect in the upcoming model.

While the LEGO Ideas submission page only has five images, Bolt Builds’ Instagram offers a closer look at the project that will inspire the official LEGO Ideas Dungeons & Dragons set after winning the challenge.

This includes a glimpse at the design process, where Lucas reveals that they started with a miniature concept build before ending up with the final submission. This allowed them to more easily imagine what they wanted the project to look like, before expanding on the design.

Another post offers a full view of the back of the build as well as an alternate colour scheme for the dragon before the decision was made to depict a green dragon. Remember that this is only the fan design and based on previous LEGO Ideas entries, there could be anywhere between very little and quite a lot of changes from the eventual set.

The winning project is currently in the process of being transformed into an official LEGO Ideas Dungeons & Dragons set. This minifigure-scale less-specific design could balance the appeal to fans of the games and those who are just LEGO enthusiasts.

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
