Comparing the two biggest LEGO Star Wars: The Mandalorian Razor Crest sets

There’s a brand new LEGO Star Wars Razor Crest model on the way, so it’s time to see how it stacks up to its smaller predecessor.

The long-rumoured 75331 The Razor Crest Ultimate Collector Series set has been officially revealed, offering fans of The Mandalorian’s iconic ship another option when it comes to representing the Razor Crest in their collection.

However, there’s one key difference between 75292 The Razor Crest and 75331 The Razor Crest – the massive size. In both piece count and price, 75331 The Razor Crest is nearly five times bigger than 75292 The Razor Crest, but these models are still surprisingly comparable.

Here are five similarities and differences between the new Ultimate Collector Series Razor Crest and the smaller Mandalorian set. (There’s also 75321 The Razor Crest Microfighter, but that’s not exactly a fair comparison.)

The minifigures

One of the biggest differences between 75292 The Razor Crest and 75331 The Razor Crest is the minifigure selection, of which there is only one that is exactly the same. While Din Djarin and Grogu are included in both, the Din Djarin minifigure in 75331 The Razor Crest has arm printing and additional details on the helmet.

Mythrol and Kuiil on a buildable Blurrg are also exclusive to 75331 The Razor Crest, whereas 75292 The Razor Crest includes a Scout Trooper, Greef Karga and IG-11.

The interior

The interior of 75331 The Razor Crest is also much more detailed than 75292 The Razor Crest, as can be afforded with the much higher piece count and size. However, the smaller set manages to capture many of the same rooms as 75331 The Razor Crest.

The rack of carbonite, sleeping quarters and cockpit are all present in both LEGO Razor Crest models, but 75331 The Razor Crest adds more detail in each room, a carbon-freezing chamber, storage behind the cockpit and a door separating them.

The scale

The most obvious difference between 75292 The Razor Crest and 75331 The Razor Crest is the size, with 75331 The Razor Crest allowing for a more show-accurate scale, including the ability to sit two minifigures side by side in the cockpit.

In terms of measurements, 75292 The Razor Crest is 14cm high, 38cm long and 28cm wide while 75331 The Razor Crest is 24cm high, 72cm long and 50cm wide. Despite the price and piece count being nearly five times larger than 75292 The Razor Crest, 75331 The Razor Crest measures twice as large as its smaller counterpart.

The windshield

The windshield on the top of 75292 has also been expanded in the new Ultimate Collector Series set. To accommodate for the bigger build, 75331 The Razor Crest features a wider windshield, as well as further transparent elements integrated into the roof of the ship to be more accurate to the series.

The price

At £519.99 / $599.99 / €599.99 for 75331 The Razor Crest, price is one of the biggest differences between the UCS model and 75292 The Razor Crest, though it comes with a good amount of detail and extra pieces for that increased price. You can still pick up the latter model for £119.99 / $139.99 / €139.99 if you’re in the market for a more accessible option.
