Could we see the reported LEGO Atari set at LEGO CON 2022?

With LEGO CON and Atari’s 50th anniversary around the corner, are we going to see the rumoured LEGO set unveiled soon?

As spotted by 1414falconfan on Instagram, a recent tweet from Atari confirms that the 50th anniversary of the company takes place this month, with ‘announcements coming soon’. A previous report suggests that the LEGO Group may be teaming up with Atari to recreate the Atari 2600 in bricks. Combining these two points suggests that one way to reveal such a set could be at LEGO CON 2022, which takes place on June 18, 2022.

This is only speculation, though LEGO CON will feature set reveals as well as a brand new theme (almost certainly Avatar) and it seems likely that more surprises could be in store. Considering the proximity of LEGO CON 2022 and the 50th anniversary of Atari, it’s not out of the question that an announcement like this could happen at LEGO CON.

The LEGO Atari 2600 reports have yet to be confirmed, though they did state that it could cost €169.99 / $199.99 and be released in August 2022. Provided this information is accurate, a reveal at some point this month seems even more likely to allow enough time for pre-orders, marketing and various preparations.

All of the above should not be taken as confirmation of Atari making an appearance at LEGO CON and is only based on what we know, previous reports and the speculative conclusion via 1414falconfan.
