Everything you can expect to see at LEGO CON 2022

LEGO CON 2022 is just over two weeks away, and teasers for the event continue to release, meaning we now have a good idea of what to expect.

Following the first LEGO CON in 2021, the LEGO Group have made a few changes for the 2022 version, from streaming the event on YouTube to promising more set reveals than before.

Full details of the event have yet to be confirmed, but with the start approaching it seems unlikely that we’ll know much more before the big day arrives. With that said, here’s everything you can expect to see at LEGO CON 2022:

New sets

LEGO CON 2022 will feature numerous set reveals from various themes, including one that will be announced at the event but more on that later. LEGO Star Wars is one such theme that has been confirmed to be getting its latest models showcased, and rumours suggest that there’s still a lot to come in summer 2022.

LEGO Minecraft team up

For LEGO Minecraft fans, expect to see Agnes Larsson from Mojang Studios at the event, likely involved in the LEGO Minecraft collaborative build between Minecraft and LEGO builders. Nothing more about this is known just yet but for comparison, the 2021 event also included a fan vote for a future LEGO Minecraft minifigure.

LEGO MASTERS guests

Special guests from the UK and US versions of LEGO MASTERS will be attending LEGO CON 2022 for a building challenge. LEGO MASTERS USA has been receiving regular new seasons with another on the way, but this is the first time that the UK version has been mentioned officially in some time.

90th-anniversary news

The 90th anniversary of the LEGO Group takes place in August, so it only makes sense that LEGO CON 2022 is being used as a way to reveal more of the celebrations before then. An announcement has been teased on social media and it seems plausible that it could be for the rumoured 10305 Lion King’s Castle, especially now that we know a Forestmen GWP is coming soon.

A brand new theme

A brand new theme has been confirmed to be announced at LEGO CON 2022 and there are no prizes for guessing what it might be. The Avatar Twitter account and a copyright notice on the official online store suggest that the upcoming LEGO Avatar sets will be officially revealed in just over two weeks.

A masterclass with the Lightyear director

Angus MacLane, the director of Disney and Pixar’s Lightyear will be hosting a masterclass at LEGO CON 2022, following the creation of a new windshield element 76832 XL-15 Spaceship.

The LEGO Harry Potter summer 2022 sets, including the first Deathly Hallows model, have already been revealed but the theme will have a presence at LEGO CON 2022 with a tour of Warner Bros. Studios London – The making of Harry Potter featuring a special guest from the films.

Content from more themes

There’ll be content from other themes too, but we’re not sure what they might entail just yet. The list includes LEGO Super Mario, LEGO Friends, LEGO Ideas, LEGO Marvel, NINJAGO, Technic and BrickHeadz.
