More details revealed for new digital LEGO test experience

Those who signed up to be testers for a new digital LEGO experience can now access a beta version of the upcoming software.

As previously reported, the LEGO Group is currently looking for testers for a brand-new digital LEGO experience on iOS devices. Those who are interested can sign up to take part in the testing process on the official site right here. If successful, they’ll receive an email invite allowing them to participate in ‘Codename: METRO’.

Completing sign-up requires users to download the TestFlight app, which will then allow them to try out the software at this early stage. From what we’ve been able to test so far, the app can only be used when an iOS device is rotated into its landscape position (as seen in the screenshots below).

Although not all of the features are currently present (with some even crashing the app), there are still enough sections working to give users a feel for what the finished experience will be look. After logging in with their LEGO.com credentials, users can select their digital home, try building with virtual bricks in the Studio, play a brief endless runner game in the Arcade and join various Clubs.

The latter are essentially quests that players are tasked with completing to unlock items in the app. For now, these include locating a Critter to add to your Pet Park, a spooky chicken event and a mission to find Master Wu somewhere in the experience.

We’ll be keeping an eye on Codename: METRO’s development as it continues to expand and report back on any significant additions to the app.
