Discounts already available on LEGO 71411 The Mighty Bowser

Despite a hefty price tag, the upcoming LEGO Super Mario 71411 The Mighty Bowser set has already been discounted by some European retailers.

Last week’s reveal of 71411 The Mighty Bowser was welcomed by many as an impressive display piece and a massive addition to the LEGO Super Mario theme, whilst others in the LEGO community were less-than-happy regarding the set’s eye-watering price.

Scheduled for launch on October 1 for £229.99 / $269.99 / €269.99, 71411 The Mighty Bowser is a 2,807-piece set that manages to pack plenty of articulation and interactivity into the 32cm tall model. However, it’s also one that appears to have been hit by the LEGO Group’s upcoming price rises, causing many to suggest that the hefty cost has put them off buying the set when it’s released later this year.

However, some European online retailers are already offering a solution to those disappointed fans, by offering pre-orders for the upcoming model at less than the LEGO Group’s RRP. Direct-to-consumer sets are usually sold exclusively from the official online store and LEGO Stores before sometimes becoming more widely available in subsequent months.

German online store Lucky Bricks currently has 71411 The Mighty Bowser available for pre-order at a price of €223.39, whilst JB Spielwaren is offering the set for €229.49. Both reductions in price should soften the blow for some European customers, but no similar offers currently appear to be available in other territories.

We’ll be keeping a close eye on the availability of 71411 The Mighty Bowser in the coming months and will report on any potential cost-savings or pre-orders that are listed by other third party retailers.
