Disney announces 2020 movie slate

Disney has announced the movies that the company will release next year, that may be in the running for LEGO play themes.

The LEGO Group is always cautious about which Disney films to base product themes on, with Toy Story 4 recently joining the generic Disney theme on store shelves. With Disney announcing the distributor’s slate of releases for the next few years, fans can get a sense of the options that the LEGO design team will have to choose from:

March 6, 2020 – Onward (Disney Pixar)
March 27, 2020 – Mulan (Walt Disney Pictures)
June 19, 2020 – Untitled Pixar
July 24, 2020 – Jungle Cruise (Walt Disney Pictures)
August 14, 2020 – The One and Only Ivan (Walt Disney Pictures)
November 25, 2020 – Untitled Disney Animation Studio
December 23, 2020 – Cruella (Walt Disney Pictures)

Beyond 2020, the films are all “untitled”, leaving fans to guess at what the magic makers will be bringing to the screen. Twentieth Century Fox releases are also listed as Disney now owns that company too, but given that much of the material is not for children, the only film that might get a LEGO line is Avatar.
