Disney+ return could be the chance for more LEGO Phineas and Ferb

A Phineas and Ferb revival for Disney+ has been announced, offering another opportunity for LEGO based on the inventive series.

As reported by Variety, Phineas and Ferb are returning for their first full season since 2015 to Disney+. Series creator Dan Povenmire has signed a new deal with 40 episodes on the way to Disney+ in the future, split into two seasons.

“Dan is renowned for his ability to create universally beloved stories and characters with both heart and humour,” said Ayo Davis, president of Disney Branded Television. “We couldn’t be happier to continue our collaboration with him and bring back the iconic ‘Phineas and Ferb’ in a big way.”

There has never been a LEGO Phineas and Ferb set on shelves, but one was planned in the form of the unreleased 3868. The model was to be part of the now-retired LEGO Games theme though it was never released officially. This revival could be a second chance for LEGO Phineas and Ferb.

The series lends itself well to the concept of LEGO sets with brothers Phineas and Ferb creating all kinds of inventions and devices in their garden, occasionally venturing into space and other universes.

With two movies and 129 episodes dating from 2007 to 2020. At the time of writing, there are no LEGO Phineas and Ferb sets rumoured but just as with Doctor Who, Disney’s involvement and the LEGO Group’s partnership with them could offer an opportunity in the future.
