March 1, 2024, is a huge day for new LEGO sets but don't overlook the new models' minifigures as there's something for every enthusiast out there.
As impressive as many of the upcoming March 2024 LEGO builds are, for display or play, don't forget that new minifigures are coming too to debut new characters and rare takes on previously depicted characters.
It's no secret that minifigures of all kinds have become collectable and a highlight of current LEGO sets – they're even the main attraction of LEGO Star Wars' 25th anniversary. The LEGO Group is keenly aware of this fact, but that doesn't mean that the best new minifigures are only in the most expensive models.
Ready your wishlist and keep these minifigures in mind as we delve into the eight of the best new LEGO minifigures for March 1, 2024.
8 – Sora
Set: 71810 Young Dragon RiyuPrice: £12.99 / $15.99 / €14.99 Pieces: 132 Release date: March 1, 2024
Sora has had many minifigures given her recent debut thanks to NINJAGO Dragons Rising but each one has been missing or misrepresented her pink hair with her cat-eared headphones. Thankfully, 71810 Young Dragon Riyu remedies this with a brand new element that finally offers the perfect Sora minifigure. It being available in a relatively affordable model for £12.99 / $15.99 / €14.99 is the icing on the minifigure-based cake too.
The debut of LEGO Animal Crossing this March is huge for the LEGO Group and Nintendo's ongoing partnership with the debut of Nintendo minifigures. These include a handful of the various villagers that can stay on your island as well as three more familiar minifigures. While Isabelle and Kapp'n are worth mentioning, Tom Nook is arguably the best of the trio thanks to his inclusion in every game in the franchise. He's currently exclusive to 77050 Nook's Cranny & Rosie's House
6 – ARC Trooper Fives
Set: 75387 Boarding the Tantive IVPrice: £49.99 / $54.99 / €54.99 Pieces: 502 Release date: March 1, 2024
One of two (of six in total) LEGO Star Wars 25th-anniversary minifigures coming this year is ARC Trooper Fives featured in 75387 Boarding the Tantive IV. The latest hallway LEGO Star Wars set has no relevance to Fives, but that's a trend so far for these minifigures. The unique LEGO Star Wars minifigure features leg printing, arm printing and a cloth shoulder element, offering a level of detail that few minifigures in the theme are treated to.
LEGO minifigures based on real people are already exceedingly rare, but Formula 1 enthusiasts will likely have at least one major reason to pick up 10330 McLaren MP4/4 & Ayrton Senna later this week. The Ayrton Senna minifigure is exclusive to the LEGO Icons model and comes with a stand and a printed helmet to display him with. It's a massive part of the new LEGO model but still worth keeping in mind next month.
4 – Rubeus Hagrid
Set: 76428 Hagrid's Hut: An Unexpected VisitPrice: £64.99 / $74.99 / €74.99 Pieces: 896 Release date: March 1, 2024
Rubeus Hagrid has surprisingly little LEGO Harry Potter minifigure representation. The good news is that he's getting a new minifigure in a new-for-LEGO outfit later this week exclusively in 76428 Hagrid's Hut: An Unexpected Visit. The minifigure comes complete with an apron and otherwise closely resembles other Hagrid minifigures. Still, for LEGO Harry Potter enthusiasts it's one not to miss.
Arguably the most enticing of the LEGO Star Wars 25th-anniversary minifigures so far is Darth Malak in 75379 R2-D2. The Knights of the Old Republic antagonist uses an exclusive mask piece and comes complete with a lightsaber and a cape too. It's sure to be a popular pick with the LEGO Star Wars community and he can be displayed on the provided stand, just like Fives in 75387 Boarding the Tantive IV.
The upcoming LEGO Spidey and his Amazing Friends models are a notably good source of obscure Marvel minifigures. As well as Arnim Zola in 10794 Team Spidey Web Spinner Headquarters, Electro is getting their latest minifigure in 10792 Drill Spinner Vehicle but with a twist. Electro in the animated series is a woman with green hair, but the iconic mask shape is still featured in the new minifigure. This is the closest an Electro minifigure has ever been to their appearance in the comics and should be an ideal starting point for a comic-inspired Electro.
1 – Wolfpack crook
Set: 10332 Medieval Town SquarePrice: £199.99 / $229.99 / €229.99 Pieces: 3,304 Release date: March 1, 2024
The massive 10332 Medieval Town Square features many exclusive minifigures but we'll highlight the new Wolfpack crook as the first minifigure for the faction in the modern era of LEGO Castle. It's a nostalgic pick and just one of the many reasons for LEGO enthusiasts to pick this model up next month. You can find out more by reading our in-depth review.
