Every brand new LEGO set launching in May 2023

Brand new LEGO Star Wars, Marvel, Disney, Ideas and Technic sets are arriving on shelves in May, so here’s a complete list of everything to look out for next month.

Keeping up with new LEGO releases is no easy feat, given the sheer number of products hitting store shelves every single month. But whether you’re hoping to plan your LEGO purchases for the foreseeable future or just don’t want to miss anything slipping by under the radar, we’ve got you covered.

May is always a mega month for Star Wars thanks to the annual May the 4th celebrations, which this year kick off on May 1. You can find out more about everything going on this year by clicking here, but the theme from a galaxy far, far away isn’t the only one with new sets next month. Scroll down for a full rundown of all the new stuff coming in May.

LEGO Collectible Minifigures

The third series of LEGO Collectible Minifigures inspired by the House of Mouse celebrates Disney’s 100th anniversary, bringing a bumper 18 new characters into the wider Disney 100 assortment. Highlights in 71038 Disney 100 include Mulan, Aurora, the Queen of Hearts, Baymax, Pinocchio, and… well, all of them.

Alongside a new series of minifigures, two new LEGO Disney sets based on the live-action The Little Mermaid remake will launch on May 1. 43213 The Little Mermaid Story Book is one for younger fans, but the rest of us will be more intrigued by 43225 The Little Mermaid Royal Clamshell. The 18+ set includes 1,808 pieces, and is available on May 1 for VIP members (and May 4 for everyone else).

LEGO Ideas

The next LEGO Ideas set blasts off into the stars, building on an original design from Polish fan Jan Woznica. 21340 Tales of the Space Age hews pretty closely to the initial submission, but expands its trio of postcard-sized images with a fourth brand new concept. You’ll be able to grab your copy from a little further into next month.

LEGO Marvel

Remember Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania? The LEGO Group sure hopes so, because our only set based on the threequel (which received a mixed reception on release in February) is coming in May. 76256 Ant-Man Construction Figure is at least the most appropriate giant-sized action figure to date, if nothing else.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
