Fan concept for LEGO DREAMZzz bottle episode is becoming a reality

A LEGO DREAMZzz episode in season three will be made by a concept from a fan, thanks to LEGO World Builder.

LEGO DREAMZzz season three is confirmed to be on the way but few details have been revealed about it, until now. Tongal has announced that fan creator Shawn Boyd, one of over 100 entrants on the LEGO World Builder platform, will have his concept turned into a bottle episode in season three, titled ‘Bottled Up’. Bottle episodes describe a self-contained episode that doesn’t impact the plot, lending it perfectly to have a show outsider come in with a fresh concept.

27-year-old Shawn from Illinois in the US came up with a concept for an episode set inside an actual bottle, winning the attention of the judging panel. Projects that get picked up by the LEGO Group on the LEGO World Builder platform get renumerated for their ideas, with Shawn himself receiving $37,500 for his work now that it’s in production.

“Ever since I was a kid, I have loved expressing my creativity in a variety of ways,” Shawn said in a statement shared on the Tongal Facebook page. “But as I grew up, I stopped writing or drawing as much as I used to. When I found LEGO World Builder, it was the perfect way to express my creativity again and share my stories with others.”

Tongal, LEGO’s partner on LEGO World Builder, has also helped fan creators have their work used in other high-profile projects, such as in the recently-announced Pharell Williams movie, Piece by Piece.
