Fantastic Beasts film due in 2022, will we get LEGO Wizarding World sets?

The release date and title for the upcoming Fantastic Beasts sequel has been revealed. But could we see LEGO Wizarding World sets for it in 2022?

Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore has been officially named and scheduled for launch on April 15 2022, delaying the film months past its original November 2021 date.

With the confirmation of the name and release date for the third film in the Fantastic Beasts franchise, it seems possible that the LEGO Group might have plans for the movie in the year to come. The first project in the franchise received a subtheme of two sets with 75951 Grindelwald’s Escape and 75952 Newt’s Case of Magical Creatures and a variety of minifigures in 71022 Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts.

Nothing has been confirmed for the future of LEGO Harry Potter or any other builds based on the Wizarding World but with four Collectable Minifigures series rumoured for 2022, it might be that one will be at least partially themed to Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore.

The title of the film also suggests that the younger version of Dumbledore featured in the movies will be a focus of the story, opening the door for a new minifigure for Jude Law’s iteration of the character.

Little is known regarding LEGO Harry Potter models in 2022 but a GWP for the theme is rumoured for release before the end of 2021, possibly representing a modern version of 4722 Gryffindor House.

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
