Fantastic Beasts 3 shooting in spring for November 2021 release

The next Harry Potter spin-off movie, Fantastic Beasts 3, will start shooting in Spring ahead of its November 2021 release.

LEGO Harry Potter fans will have to wait a little while for the next sets based on the Fantastic Beasts series. The third film in the spin-off series will begin shooting in spring 2020 for a November 2021 release date.

In a report from Deadline, the dates are confirmed along with the news that Jessica Williams’ Professor Eulalie “Lally” Hicks character – who was introduced in Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald – will have a larger role.

She will be part of a cast including Eddie Redmayne as Newt Scamander, Jude Law as Albus Dumbledore, Johnny Depp as Gellert Grindelwald, Ezra Miller as Credence, Alison Sudol as Queenie Goldstein, Dan Fogler as Jacob Kowalski and Katherine Waterston as Tina Goldstein. David Yates will be the film’s director.

This time around the adventure will take place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Originally, shooting was scheduled to begin in July 2019, but more pre-production time was required.

Two LEGO sets based on the series are available at the moment – 75951 Grindelwald’s Escape and 75952 Newt’s Case of Magical Creatures (review) – both of which are expected to be retired by the end of the year.
