First images of LEGO The Marvels 76232 The Hoopty revealed

An online retailer has revealed the first images of LEGO Marvel 76232 The Hoopty, which brings together all three of The Marvels’ main characters in a single box.

It’s not what you’d call a cheap box, though, because German retailer Lucky Bricks currently has 76232 The Hoopty listed at an eye-watering €94.99. Whichever way you slice it, that’s a high price for a set that includes just 420 pieces and three minifigures. Those are all characters we’ve seen before, too, consisting of Captain Marvel, Ms. Marvel and Photon (or Monica Rambeau, who debuted in 71031 Marvel Studios).

The 8+ set builds into a predominantly grey ship with a trans-orange cockpit, and seemingly has room to seat all three of its minifigures – or one pilot and two cats, of which 76232 The Hoopty includes three. At least one of those is Goose the Flerken, an alien creature that just happens to resemble a cat, though it’s not certain yet whether the other two (smaller) animals are also Flerkens or just plain old cats.

There’s a semblance of an interior for the three superheroes and their indeterminate companions to hang out in, and it’s littered with details including screens, plants, technical equipment and a vinyl record. But the one lifestyle picture shared by Lucky Bricks betrays the true scale of 76232 The Hoopty, and let’s just say it isn’t exactly massive…

The retailer suggests 76232 The Hoopty will launch October 1, 2023. Full confirmation of its release date and international pricing will presumably come from LEGO.com later today.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
