First LEGO Ideas 2023 review results revealed
The LEGO Ideas team has revealed two sets that are now confirmed to be transforming from fan-made designs to real-life LEGO models.
The results of the first 2023 LEGO Ideas review are now in, thanks to a blog post from the LEGO Ideas team. We now know which two sets out of the 71 record-breaking submissions to gain 10,000 votes will be winging their way to shelves sometime relatively soon, joining six other LEGO Ideas sets that are currently in production.
The team also confirmed that the results of the second 2023 review round will be revealed in early 2024. Scroll down for an update on what’s coming to LEGO Ideas down the line. Remember that the LEGO Ideas designers may well make changes to these fan-made designs throughout the creation process, so the final product may look different to the pictures below.
Twilight: Cullen House
Harking back to the franchise that started the craze of supernatural creature love triangles, LobsterThermidor aka Nick Micheels’s Twilight: Cullen House design is now confirmed to be on its way as a real LEGO Ideas set. The modern building is made up largely of wood and glass in the movie, so any design based on that would surely reflect that architectural style.
The original fan design include minifigure for Edward, Bella, Jacob, and Carlisle, as well as a brick-built wolf version of Jacob too. However, seeing as this is likely the only LEGO Twilight set we’ll get, perhaps we’ll get even more minifigures to represent the rest of the Cullen clan. Inside, Nick packed in plenty of movie references, from Carlise’s at-home medical practice to Edward’s piano.
The Botanical Garden
Although presumably the LEGO Group will need to fine-tune the name to avoid stepping on LEGO Friends 41757 Botanical Garden’s toes, this stunning creation from Goannas89 aka Valentina Bima is now confirmed to be on its way to the LEGO Ideas theme. Three layers of transparent windows house colourful plants and leafy bushes galore, along with visiting minifigures and flowering plants winding their way up the outside too.
At a proposed 3,000 pieces, if the real LEGO Ideas set stays close to this set, The Botanical Garden will be a truly impressive addition to any brick-built street, becoming the first Modular Building Ideas submission to make it through the review stage.
All in all, the two LEGO Ideas sets now confirmed are sure to attract a specific swathe of LEGO fans in general. Brick Fanatics‘ own Matthew had some thoughts about how the two sets could help mix up a growing LEGO Modular Building collection.
