First trailer for animated Star Wars: Tales of the Empire series revealed

A series of six all-new animated shorts has been revealed in the first trailer for the upcoming Star Wars: Tales of the Empire.

As if fans needed even more reasons to celebrate Star Wars Day on May 4, Lucasfilm has just released a first-look trailer for a new animated series. Six original Star Wars: Tales of the Empire shorts will make their debut on Disney+ on that date and be available for all subscribers of the streaming service.

The all-new anthology series will be presented in the style of Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi, taking a journey into the fearsome Galactic Empire through the eyes of Nightsister Morgan Elspeth and former Jedi Barriss Offee. Star Wars: Tales of the Empire will focus on previously untold events in the lives of both characters, with their choices defining their destinies.

The talented voice cast of the animated series includes Diana Lee Inosanto (Morgan Elsbeth), Meredith Salenger (Barriss Offee), Rya Kihlstedt (Lyn, aka Fourth Sister), Wing T. Chao (Wing), Lars Mikkelsen (Thrawn), Jason Isaacs (Grand Inquisitor) and Matthew Wood (General Grievous).

Key art for Star Wars: Tales of the Empire has also been released, revealing images of Thrawn and the Fourth Sister, General Grievous ready for battle, Darth Vader, the Grand Inquisitor and other new and familiar characters including Wing and the Nightsisters.

All six episodes of Star Wars: Tales of the Empire will be dropping on Disney+ on May 4, otherwise known to fans of a galaxy far, far away as this year’s Star Wars Day.
