Five plot reveals in the LEGO NINJAGO Dragons Rising sets

The LEGO NINJAGO Dragons Rising sets have revealed a variety of plot details for the upcoming animated series following a cataclysmic event.

The Merge has changed NINJAGO, expanding the landscape of the realm and there’s undoubtedly a lot of ground to cover in the new series’ narrative.

While we wait for NINJAGO Dragons Rising to start streaming and airing worldwide, the 13 sets based on the show have revealed a few interesting details

5 – Photac Beasts

71790 Imperium Dragon Hunter Hound is named in the description as a Photac Beast, also suggesting that we haven’t seen anything like this in the portfolio.

Their size relative to minifigures and animalistic appearance has similarities to Legend Beasts from Legends of Chima, but nothing more has been confirmed.

4 – Master Lloyd

Numerous set descriptions confirm that Sora and Arin are students of Lloyd who has now reached the rank of master.

We see the pair training in the trailers for the series, but it’s good to have confirmation and see how Lloyd has grown over the past decade.

3 – A second Master of Fire

71793 Heatwave Transforming Lava Dragon includes an exclusive minifigure Wyldfyre. This character has fire powers as confirmed by the description of the set.

Kai is the Elemental Master of Fire, but another conclusion is that Wyldfyre is a second Elemental Master of the same element.

2 – A dragon with a name

71796 Elemental Dragon vs. The Empress Mech includes a dragon with a name – a rare but not unique occurrence.

Jiro joins the likes of Ultra, Firstbourne, Rocky and more. Other dragons in the wave are not named, suggesting that Jiro could have a significant role to play in the story.

1 – The World Forest

The description of 71795 Temple of the Dragon Energy Cores confirms that the temple is in the World Forest – a new location for NINJAGO

As well as the Spirit of The Temple minifigure, this set is one of the more mysterious entries in the summer 2023 wave.

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
