Five things we spotted in LEGO 10326 Natural History Museum

There’s lots to see in LEGO 10326 Natural History Museum and you’ll find something new every time you look at it, including a hidden designer.

10326 Natural History Museum is the biggest LEGO modular building and it features a great variety of details for us to dig into ahead of its release in a month on December 1. While we’re waiting for our copies to arrive we’ve poured through the LEGO.com listing, official images and more to find a few things you might not have noticed.

From a hidden LEGO designer to an element hidden in plain sight, here are five things we spotted in 10326 Natural History Museum.

Bone holder

The story of the mischievous dog in 10326 Natural History Museum can be recreated on display. Whether the dog takes the bone from the back of the building or off the Brachiosaurus skeleton inside, the pup can make a speedy getaway with the bone in its mouth. However, this brick has no space to hold a bar in its mouth. To achieve this effect, a clip hidden in plain sight on the street of 10326 Modular Building positions the bone just in front of the dog.

Recoloured LEGO Friends hair

One of the two statues in 10326 Natural History Museum uses Nova’s hair from LEGO Friends in a new grey colour – ideal for a new hairstyle for any elderly citizens in your LEGO city.

A Jurassic Park cameo

The Brachiosaurus Skeleton inside 10326 Natural History Museum may not be quite to scale with the extinct creature, likely due to size constraints within the building. However, the design team haven’t forgotten the big Brachiosaurus as the new Jurassic Park piece makes a cameo on one of the banners outside following its debut in 76960 Brachiosaurus Discovery.

Behind the scenes

As well as a LEGO toilet, 10326 Natural History Museum has an even more realistic inclusion behind the main lobby as a lab complete with microscope and printed cell tile is featured with access to the inside and outside of the museum.

A familiar window washer

According to the listing on LEGO.com for 10326 Natural History Museum, the window washer is based on a real LEGO designer. While this is only speculation, their appearance is similar to Chris McVeigh, one member of the team behind 10326 Natural History Museum. Whoever it is based on, they have a permanent place in the LEGO Modular Buildings Collection thanks to 10326 Natural History Museum.

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
