Five things we want to see from the LEGO Star Wars summer 2025 sets
A bumper LEGO Star Wars wave is said to be coming in August – so from new minifigures to neat functions, here are five things we want to see in the summer sets.
A total of 10 LEGO Star Wars sets are currently said to be coming in August, ranging from 75431 327th Star Corps Battle Pack at $39.99 all the way up to 75413 UT-AT and 75435 Clone Wars MTT at $149.99 apiece. Nestled in the middle are a trio of buildable characters, a bonus Ultimate Collector Series set, more Clone Wars vehicles and a mysterious Rebuild the Galaxy model.
While all we really have to go on so far with these sets are their rumoured names, piece counts and price tags, there’s still enough meat on their bones at the moment to ponder what they might look like, the functions they could include and the minifigures that could join the LEGO Star Wars line-up later this year. With that in mind, here are five things we’d love to see on shelves this summer…
5 – The rapid return of Jango Fett

While this year’s May the 4th model is said to be a UCS Jango Fett’s Starship, a smaller play-scale version of the vehicle is also said to be on the cards for August, offering an Attack of the Clones Slave I for every budget. The real question at the moment is whether we’ll see the minifigure line-up repeated across both sets – or more specifically, whether the inevitable super-detailed Jango that will surely come in the UCS set will appear verbatim in the smaller and cheaper version.
The LEGO Group generally likes to keep at least one minifigure in UCS sets exclusive, but it’s not necessarily always the most iconic or desirable character that gets locked behind the biggest paywall: 75367 Venator-class Republic Attack Cruiser’s Captain Rex is the best recent example of a hyper-detailed fan-favourite character returning from a UCS set at a lower price point, and we’d love to see it happen again with Jango Fett.
4 – A slightly bigger Slave I

Speaking of Slave I: the rumoured 75433 Jango Fett’s Starship is said to include 707 pieces for $69.99. That’s 300 fewer than the best play-scale version of the ship so far, 2019’s 75243 Slave I, but 114 more than 2021’s downsized 75312 Boba Fett’s Starship.
We’re hoping it will therefore unlock the door to a slightly bigger and more impressive version of Slave I than the 2021 set, which was fine for the time, but wouldn’t really scale well with 75333 Obi-Wan Kenobi’s Jedi Starfighter…
3 – Clone Trooper accessories

If there was one glaring omission from 2024’s otherwise-stellar 75372 Clone Trooper & Battle Droid Battle Pack, it was the inclusion of any visors, antennae and so on for its squad of four Clone Troopers. The LEGO Group is sticking to its guns with the controversial holes for accessories on Clone Trooper helmets, but it seems pointless if we don’t actually get said accessories with which to customise our soldiers.
Fingers crossed the LEGO Star Wars team remedies that omission in this summer’s rumoured 75431 327th Star Corps Battle Pack, which at $39.99 would be the most expensive battle pack to date. Surely some of that budget could go towards including a bag of helmet accessories…
2 – Full (and better-integrated) V-19 functionality
The LEGO Star Wars theme is said to be finally revisiting 2008’s 7674 V-19 Torrent this summer, and if there’s one thing we need from a new take on this classic Clone Wars ship, it’s – at a minimum – the same functionality as the 2008 set. The LEGO Group is on a mission to scale back its Star Wars ships while increasing the detail, but in this case it can’t be at the expense of functionality.
The mechanism of the original set was all but flawless, allowing all three wings to move from landing mode to flight mode (and vice-versa) in tandem. It needs to return in a new V-19 for sure, but we’d also love to see it integrated in a neater way too, with fewer exposed gears. Seventeen years of design upgrades should hopefully allow for that, even if this new set is slated to be much cheaper than the original when accounting for inflation.
1 – A new B-1 battle droid

2025 is shaping up to be the summer of the Battle Droid, as the LEGO Star Wars team is said to be bringing us both 75435 Clone Wars MTT – a vehicle designed for carrying Battle Droids – and 75428 B1 Battle Droid, a buildable version of the Trade Federation’s classic foot soldier. What better chance is there, then, to finally update the classic Battle Droid minifigure after 26 years?
The humble B1 received a minor update to its arms in the late 2000s, allowing it to hold the new moulded blaster element introduced in 2007, but otherwise this is the same minifigure the theme has been rocking since 1999. What we really need most from a new B1 is posable legs, and this example from Clone Army Customs serves up one solid solution. Surely Billund’s brightest can make it happen too…
