Full LEGO NINJAGO Dragons Rising poster revealed

The LEGO Group has published the full poster for the upcoming NINJAGO Dragons Rising, giving us our best look yet at four new characters joining the evergreen theme.

NINJAGO is about to undergo a soft reboot, following the culmination of the Crystalized arc in summer 2022. And that will apparently involve at least four new characters joining the fray in Dragons Rising, the next season of the TV show running adjacent to the physical sets. The LEGO Group has been slowly releasing fragments of the series’ first poster over the last few days, and has now published the entire one-sheet online.

That means we’ve now got a clear look at all seven characters featured on the poster, among whom are three familiar faces in Lloyd, Kai and Nya. They’re joined by seemingly four new additions in a character with cat-like ears on their hood, a golden ninja with a horned mask, a wolf-like minifigure and a small dragon. We’ve yet to see the summer 2023 LEGO NINJAGO sets, but there’s a good chance these characters will be among them.

Exactly what role these mysterious characters will play remains to be seen, but it’s not too surprising to see the LEGO Group shaking things up for a theme now in its 13th year on shelves. The cat-eared character is also wearing unique colours for NINJAGO – vibrant coral and dark blue – which will hopefully play out in the physical sets, offering a completely different aesthetic to the bold colours of the current ninja.

NINJAGO Dragons Rising debuts on June 1 worldwide, suggesting the physical sets will arrive on shelves the same day (which would follow the theme’s typical release schedule, too). We’ll hopefully find out more about the LEGO NINJAGO summer 2023 wave soon.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
