Giant, deconstructed LEGO McLaren Formula 1 model revealed
The big builds for the LEGO Group’s partnership with McLaren continue with a unique take on a massive model showcasing more than ever before.
There have been many huge creations paying tribute to the partnership between the LEGO Group and McLaren but none have been quite like the latest result of the collaboration.
A 175,000-piece recreation of a LEGO McLaren Formula 1 car is now on display in Montreal ahead of the race in the city this weekend, displaying the inner workings of the car as if it were a LEGO set while still maintaining the recognisable Formula 1 vehicle shape.

It appears to use the build of 42141 McLaren Formula 1 Race Car as the foundation but with elements of the livery from the newer 76919 2023 McLaren Formula 1 Car. Compared to the previous massive LEGO McLaren models, it’s certainly one of the most unique big builds from the LEGO Group to date.

The McLaren Formula 1 team’s social media channels have also shared a video featuring Lando Norris as he tours us through the huge creation. As he notes, the model took 2,000 hours to put together.
Both 42141 McLaren Formula 1 Race Car and 76919 2023 McLaren Formula 1 Car are available now and the latter is one of the most recent LEGO Speed Champions sets, of which three have just been released.
