Haas F1 driver Ollie Bearman takes his LEGO minifigure into his own hands

We might not have any official named Formula 1 driver minifigures from the current grid but rookie Ollie Bearman has made one of himself.

The only named minifigures in the LEGO Formula 1 partnership currently on shelves are legacy drivers, like Ayrton Senna in 10330 McLaren MP4/4 & Ayrton Senna and 10353 Williams Racing FW14B & Nigel Mansell. However, Haas Formula 1 driver Ollie Bearman has made his own custom minifigure with a clever play on his name.

“I went to the LEGO store with my family and my girlfriend and we made a LEGO man of me,” he told Formula 1 on TikTok. He quickly managed to source a picture of the minifigure via his girlfriend. Playing on his surname, the minifigure has a bear head, rounded off with a display stand with ‘Ollie’ on it and his racing number 87 on the back. It also looks like he might have signed the front of the torso for an extra personal touch.

“Now it’s in my apartment,” Ollie said with a massive grin. Check out the full interview in the video below.

I write about all the very best fandoms – and that means LEGO, of course. Spending so much time looking at and talking about LEGO sets is dangerous for my bank balance, but the LEGO shelves are thriving. You win some, you lose some.
