Here’s how to make LEGO Technic 42122 Jeep Wrangler remote control

If you’ve been searching for a way to upgrade the new LEGO Technic 42122 Jeep Wrangler with some remote–control functionality, one Youtuber might have the answer.

Unbrickme has tackled the task of making Technic vehicles remote–control a number of times before, and is now exploring how to make the relatively mid–sized 2021 Technic set full controllable. Thankfully the solution was shared in a new YouTube video.

LEGO fans wishing to follow the video are going to need two large Powered Up motors, 88015 Powered Up battery box, a Technic frame, a differential, as well as a few gears, pins, beams, and axles. Technic aficionados will no doubt have at least few parts spare, and the battery box is currently available at LEGO.com.

In the video itself, a few shots showing the completed upgrade are shown for fans to compare and copy, alternatively, you may wish to find your own solution, using the video as inspiration. Unbrickme also gives a short demonstration of the upgrade with 42122 Jeep Wrangler traversing over some uneven terrain, and the placement of the battery box, unfortunately, means very little clearance underneath the model.

The new Technic set is part of the early 2021 range of models, which also include a pair of Monster Jam monster trucks and 42125 Ferrari 488 GTE AF CORSE #51 for more adventurous builders. 42122 Jeep wrangler is now available for £44.99 / $49.99 / €49.99.
