How to build a LEGO City spaceship and capsule using Pick a Brick

We’ve plucked two more LEGO City space gems from a pair of 2025 releases and created parts lists for them on Pick a Brick – but you’ll need to be quick, as some of these pieces are retiring imminently…

If you’re interested in building out your LEGO City space collection without breaking the bank, one route is purchasing just the pieces for specific components of bigger sets through Pick a Brick. We’ve already covered how to build the core module of the recent City space sets, and now we’ve extracted the command capsule from 60446 Modular Galactic Spaceship and the shuttle from 60473 The City Tower to go alongside it.

Find out how to assemble each of these separate LEGO City space builds using Pick a Brick below.

LEGO City space command capsule

As the name suggests, 60446 Modular Galactic Spaceship is comprised of sections that can be detached and reassembled at will, and they’re all compatible with the core module of the LEGO City space subtheme that debuted in 2024. The larger round module towards the back of the ship can connect directly to those modules and is very handy for creating and expanding a larger space display.

If you don’t fancy buying multiple copies of 60446 Modular Galactic Spaceship to get your hands on more, though, Pick a Brick has almost all the pieces you need in stock at the time of writing – and those that are leaving the service in 2025 are discounted, too, making this an even cheaper and more accessible project. Only 6453281 is out of stock, but we’ve selected 6450596 as a suitable alternative in the same colour.

Download the parts list for this capsule in your chosen format below. Either of these is compatible with Pick a Brick. If you’re new to uploading parts lists, you’ll find a guide further down this story.

LEGO City Tower spaceship

LEGO City 60473 The City Tower spaceship 1200x712

This summer’s 60473 The City Tower mashes together almost every current LEGO City subtheme in one hodgepodge set, but if all you want is the cool little spaceship that tops it then you’re better off turning to Pick a Brick. We’ve put together two separate parts lists for this one: the first includes the pilot minifigure, while the second is just the ship.

There’s one part missing on Pick a Brick from the original build, 6257592, but you can substitute 6254045 without any problems (and we’ve done so in the parts list here). The pilot’s blue jetpack is also absent at the moment. Otherwise, everything you need is available to purchase just by uploading your chosen parts list below.

Uploading a second parts list to Pick a Brick will overwrite the first one, so if you want to build both of these models in one go, use the combined parts list below. This one includes the pilot minifigure, but you can always remove those elements from your bag if you don’t need them.

Uploading a parts list is super straightforward. Head to Pick a Brick, hit the ‘upload list’ button near the search bar, then either drag and drop or upload your CSV or JSON file. Pick a Brick will then tell you how many pieces are in the list and which of those are currently unavailable.

We’ve already noted a couple of suitable substitutions for each set above, but other options in the event of missing parts include sourcing the original elements elsewhere or waiting for them to come back in stock. (That may never happen for pieces retiring from Pick a Brick in 2025, however.)

To add the pieces from the parts list to your bag, choose ‘View All Pieces’, then ‘Pick selected pieces’. You’ll see here how much they’ll cost, too. Remember, you can only upload one parts list at a time, so if you want to purchase both of these models in a single order you’ll want to use the combined list above.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
