Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine all set to guest star in Deadpool 3

It’s been revealed that not only will Deadpool 3 arrive in 2024, but that Hugh Jackman will be back as Wolverine in the sequel.

In a video posted to his Twitter account, actor Ryan Reynolds announced that Deadpool 3 is indeed in development (if he’s to be believed), with the film tentatively scheduled for release on September 6, 2024. In addition, he revealed that Hugh Jackman, his long-time friend and the butt of many of Reynolds’ jokes, would also be suiting up once again as his X-Men character, Wolverine.

Although there’s been no official confirmation so far from either Disney or Marvel Studios regarding the news, the film looks set to continue the mature themes of the previous instalments. One of the movie’s writers, Rhett Reese, recently commented on Deadpool 3, insisting that the sequel will be the equal of its R-rated predecessors, despite the franchise now being part of the upcoming Phase Five of the MCU.

Whilst there have been no announcements from the LEGO Group to date regarding any potential Deadpool 3 sets, it’s probably highly unlikely we’ll get to see any products explicitly based on the upcoming film, if it continues its previous mature tone. It may be possible that sets and minifigures could potentially arrive at some point that reflect the comic book look of the characters, although that’s pure speculation on our part.

However, a LEGO Marvel Mech featuring Deadpool would certainly be one logical addition to that range of sets and both Deadpool and Wolverine have already appeared together in 6866 Wolverine’s Chopper Showdown released in 2012, alongside a minifigure of the X-Men villain, Magneto.
