Imagine a LEGO Razor Crest that came out in 1999

A Reddit user has imagined what it would have looked like if the LEGO Group had released a Razor Crest in 1999.

There’s no denying that LEGO techniques and elements have come on leaps and bounds since the last 90s, but those older sets still have a certain charm, especially if you grew up building models of that era. While modern LEGO Star Wars sets capture so many details in both brick-built structures and the minifigures that come with them, there’s definitely a nostalgia in the simplicity of older sets.

Reddit user u/DECDH decided to take on the challenge themselves, with a build of the Razor Crest in the style of the LEGO 90s and shared the results in a Reddit post. From the more simplistic guns and muted exterior colours to the minimalistic interior, they’ve done an excellent job.

When compared to other actual LEGO sets from that era, it looks right at home, placed beside what looks like 7140 X-wing Fighter and 7144 Slave I.

Other Reddit users were quick to agree, with one writing, ‘Honestly I think you’re spot on’ and another adding, ‘Love the vintage looks of the 90s-early 2000s sets’. Does anyone have a time machine we can borrow?

I write about all the very best fandoms – and that means LEGO, of course. Spending so much time looking at and talking about LEGO sets is dangerous for my bank balance, but the LEGO shelves are thriving. You win some, you lose some.
