These two models cover locations that are relatively rare in LEGO Minecraft, being a dungeon and the Nether. For 21172 The Ruined Portal, the model is split between the Nether and the Overworld, a concept explored previously in the theme but never at this size.  

It’s also the only currently available set to include a Nether portal in case you want to combine it with other Nether sets. The characters in 21172 The Ruined Portal include Steve in Netherite armour, a baby sheep, a baby Hoglin and a Wither Skeleton. The unique layout of this build makes it ideal for transitioning between dimensions in your custom LEGO worlds.

21189 The Skeleton Dungeon is only the second LEGO Minecraft model featuring a Dungeon, and the only one available at the time of writing. As teased in the name, there are a lot of skeleton minifigures in the set as well as the exclusive Cave Explorer. The underground build also features a function to spawn skeletons suddenly, like the dungeons in Minecraft.
