Last chance for limited-run LEGO modular GWP

The LEGO Group’s latest limited-run gift-with-purchase is only available for a few more hours – but that’s just enough time to snag it with the newest modular building…

40586 Moving Truck popped up out of the blue at LEGO.com in the UK and Europe yesterday, available with orders above £160 / €180. Originally designed to pair with 10312 Jazz Club, the timing of this particular freebie seemed a little mystifying – until later in the day, when the LEGO Group pulled the curtain back on 10326 Natural History Museum. 2024’s modular building will actually be available in 2023, and is available to pre-order now.

Suddenly, everything clicked: here is a chance to snap up a wholly relevant GWP while pre-ordering the new modular building. It’s the first time a modular-adjacent free gift has been available with a brand new addition to the line in recent years, as 40532 Vintage Taxi and 40586 Moving Truck both originally debuted a month after their respective modular buildings (10297 Boutique Hotel and 10312 Jazz Club).

While 10326 Natural History Museum will seemingly have its own gift-with-purchase in the shape of a food truck, there’s no word yet on when that might arrive – and if it follows the precedent of previous modular GWPs, it probably won’t be on December 1 when the museum launches. That means 40586 Moving Truck is pretty much your only chance to guarantee a relevant freebie on day one. But it isn’t a chance you’ll have much longer.

40586 Moving Truck is only available until the close of play October 31 (today!), which makes it one of the most limited runs for a gift-with-purchase in recent memory (two days total). You can secure yours by pre-ordering 10326 Natural History Museum now – or spending at least £160 / €180 on any other sets at LEGO.com. Check out our review of the freebie here.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
