Anyone with a Toys R Us gift card in the UK should head to one of the remaining stores before Sunday, March 11.
Toys R Us in the UK recently went into administration, after failing to find a buyer for the business. The stores are now clearing stock, with a number of stores having reduced all prices by 60%, and all other stores offering up to 30% off remaining products.
The retailer’s website confirms that any gift card must be used by Sunday, March 11, after which the card will be invalid and not accepted at the checkout. This also applies to Time to Pay agreements. Exchanges and refunds are no longer being accepted.
Aside from the stores with 60% off across the board, the discount on construction toys – including LEGO sets – is only 10%, but it is still cheaper than paying the full retail price, so for some collectors it may be worth checking out. The discounts on other product categories vary, going up to 30%.
Dates for further store closures are expected to be announced shortly. Around 3,200 staff are affected by the closure of Toys R Us in the UK.
