Last chance for massive discount on LEGO Star Wars 40558 Clone Trooper Command Station

The LEGO Group has knocked a tempting 30% off LEGO Star Wars 40558 Clone Trooper Command Station, which is available only while remaining supplies last.

According to Brick Fanatics’ sources, both of the LEGO Star Wars blister packs that debuted in January 2022 have now retired from production. That typically means any stock you see online is being sold on a ‘when it’s gone, it’s gone’ basis, making this effectively your last chance to build your minifigure armies in 40557 Defence of Hoth and 40558 Clone Trooper Command Station.

Each of those accessory packs is essentially a mini battle pack, offering three minifigures and a small build for £13.49 / $14.99 / €14.99 apiece at retail. And both sets are currently on sale at LEGO.com across the UK, US and Europe, with discounts of up to 30% available right now. Check out the table below for the full rundown of prices on this pair of army builders.

CountryLEGO setRRPSale priceDiscountAvailability
40557 Defence of Hoth£13.49£8.0940%Temporarily out of stock
40558 Clone Trooper Command Station£13.49£9.4430%Available now
40557 Defence of Hoth$14.99$11.9920%Available now
40558 Clone Trooper Command Station$14.99$11.9920%Available on back order

Curiously, 40557 Defence of Hoth is ‘temporarily out of stock’ in the UK and Europe, which suggests the LEGO Group is planning to produce more copies to fulfil future orders. That would be unusual for a set that’s technically retired, so there’s always a chance it will slide straight into ‘sold out’ territory, but keep an eye on LEGO.com to see if it comes back in stock.

Remember that household limits for both of these sets apply in each region: UK and European shoppers can buy up to two copies of 40558 Clone Trooper Command Station, while US fans can snag up to five. There’s a limit of three copies of 40557 Defence of Hoth per household in the US, meanwhile.

While these sets alone won’t take you to the free shipping threshold in the UK and Europe, they’re perfect basket fillers to get your order above £50 / €50 – or even towards the £170 / $190 / €190 qualifying spend for 40580 Blacktron Cruiser, which is available until January 14 (or while stocks last).

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
