WATCH: LEGO Icons 10307 Eiffel Tower’s most adorable feature

Look past the infinite iron girders that make up the newly-revealed LEGO Icons 10307 Eiffel Tower, and you’ll see the set’s most adorable feature hiding in plain sight.

Unveiled by the LEGO Group earlier today, this Parisian behemoth weighs in at a staggering 10,001 pieces, and will retail for £554.99 / $679.99 / €629.99 when it launches on November 25 (that’s Black Friday to you and us). It’s also – not too surprisingly – the tallest LEGO set of all time, stretching to an incredible 149cm, or nearly five feet in height. Taller than a lot of people, in fact.

But in and among the wrought iron trusswork, observation platforms and so on, the LEGO design team responsible for bringing 10307 Eiffel Tower to life has also managed to squirrel away a few details that don’t immediately catch the eye. (And why would they, with a set of this size.) Our latest YouTube video takes a closer look at what the model has to offer beyond sheer height…

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
