LEGO Icons 10365 Captain Jack Sparrow’s Pirate Ship officially revealed

LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean is sailing back on to shelves under the LEGO Icons banner this September with 10365 Captain Jack Sparrow’s Pirate Ship.

Last seen in LEGO Stores with 2017’s 71042 Silent Mary, Pirates of the Caribbean is the latest dormant licensed theme to be resurrected by LEGO Icons, following The Lord of the Rings and The Simpsons. This time round it’s with a 2,862-piece take on the Black Pearl (though that name is mysteriously absent from the box), which launches September 12 for £299.99 / $379.99 / €349.99.

This version is much beefier and currently cheaper than 2011’s 4184 The Black Pearl, which consists of just 804 pieces and commands upwards of £670 new and sealed on the aftermarket. But it’s surprisingly not that much bigger, measuring 64cm tall and wide, while the original playset stands 50cm tall and 53cm wide. That relatively minor difference can be explained away by the much denser construction in the new set, however.

Gone are the moulded hull elements of 4184, as 10365 Captain Jack Sparrow’s Pirate Ship is instead built from the ground up with individual pieces. There’s a fully-furnished captain’s quarters, along with functions including cannons that can be deployed simultaneously by turning a dial, a rudder that can be operated by turning the ship’s wheel and a detachable rowboat.

The hull can also be split at the waterline so you can display it as though it’s partly submerged in the sea, which is a first for LEGO pirate ships all round. The minifigure line-up stands eight strong and only partly matches that of the original LEGO Black Pearl: Davy Jones, Bootstrap Bill and Maccus are absent this time round, but Jack Sparrow, Will Turner and Joshamee Gibbs all return with new designs.

They’re joined by Hector Barbossa, Elizabeth Swann, Cotton, Marty and Anamaria, the latter three of whom are all making their minifigure debut in this set.

10365 Captain Jack Sparrow’s Pirate Ship debuts September 12, 2025 and will be available exclusively at LEGO.com and in LEGO Stores (at least initially). Check out a full list of LEGO sets launching in September here.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
