LEGO 2K Drive FAQs reveal microtransactions, customisation and more

LEGO 2K Drive’s frequently asked questions reveal important information about the game, including the presence of microtransactions.

With the reveal of LEGO 2K Drive, the official website for the game has a page of FAQs that share further details regarding gameplay, in-game purchases, difficulty and the level of customisation we can expect to see.

One of the most notable clarifications from the FAQs is the confirmation of microtransactions beyond the Year 1 Pass. LEGO 2K Drive will feature two currencies – BrickBux and Coins. BrickBux can be earned through gameplay and Coins are purchased using real-world money. 550 Coins are also included in the Year 1 Pass.

The FAQs reveal that both currencies can be used to purchase items at Unkie’s Emporium, an in-game shop, which will also offer bundles of Coins. Items available for Coins have been confirmed to feature vehicles, flairs and brick sets.

The FAQs confirm that all purchases will require a 2K Account with the option to block real-world money purchases.

Outside of microtransactions, the page reveals that LEGO 2K Drive will be available in English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, Polish, Latin American Spanish, Japanese and Korean (voice and text). The game supports text localization only for Dutch, Danish, Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese and Thai.

There are no difficulty levels in LEGO 2K Drive with a feature named Race Difficulty Assist used instead to scale the challenge of races – this can be disabled though.

The FAQs continue, stating that minifigure customisation will only go as far as to allow you to switch between premade minifigures, more of which can be purchased at Unkie’s Emporium.
