LEGO 40565 Santa’s Workshop gift-with-purchase officially revealed

The first official images of 40565 Santa’s Workshop are finally here, giving us a clear look at December’s headline LEGO gift-with-purchase.

Available from December 1 to 24 with all purchases above £150 / $150 / €150 at LEGO.com and in LEGO Stores, 40565 Santa’s Workshop is the second of this year’s Christmas-themed freebies, following on from November’s 40564 Winter Elves Scene. That first seasonal gift-with-purchase was available across LEGO VIP Weekend, Black Friday and Cyber Monday with orders above £170 / $170 / €170.

It’s a slightly lower threshold for 40565 Santa’s Workshop, then – and good thing, too, because most of us are probably well spent up after the past couple of weekends. Provided you can find something to buy at LEGO.com – and it’ll have to be an existing set, because there are no new releases for December – the vignette will be yours from tomorrow through Christmas Eve, or while stocks last.

Built on a 12×14-stud base, 40565 Santa’s Workshop is apparently designed to connect to 40564 Winter Elves Scene, though just how well those sets genuinely mesh together is perhaps a little more subjective. Either way, it’s one you won’t want to miss if you’re collecting the LEGO Group’s seasonal models. For your trouble, you’ll get another elf minifigure, along with Santa Claus himself.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
